The firefighters noticed an elderly man trapped in his vehicle after heavy rains flooded the road and used a flotation vest to aid in the extraction.
Firefighters rescued two Israelis trapped inside their vehicles due to flooding in the West Bank, Israel's Fire and Rescue Authority said on Thursday afternoon.
The firefighters noticed an elderly man trapped in his vehicle after heavy rains flooded the road and used a flotation vest to aid in the extraction.
Additionally, a woman was rescued from her vehicle and escorted to safety.
"Upon arriving at the scene, I conducted a situation assessment to assess the strength of the flow and the best way to reach the person being rescued while maintaining his safety and that of the rescue team," incident commander Reshef Amos Cohen said.
"The fire engine managed to reach the elderly man's vehicle. A firefighter climbed down and transferred the elderly man to the fire engine, and from there to a safe place."

A missing man who was swept away in flooding near the Meitar Stream was found dead in the Beersheba Stream on Tuesday, the Fire and Rescue Authority confirmed.
According to the police, the man was last seen attempting to extricate a vehicle stuck in water when he slipped in and was swept away by the current. Volunteers and rescue units worked alongside relevant agencies to reach him.
After extensive searches and a field assessment, responders said the man likely did not cross the Meitar crossing area. Teams from the Special Rescue Unit conducted wide-area ground sweeps and used additional tools before locating his body.
